Frequently Asked Questions

We are here to help you heal. Find quick answers below about sizing, garment care, and your order so you can get back to focusing on your recovery.

Getting Your Fit Right

Compression wear fits differently than your everyday clothes. To get the best results, grab a soft measuring tape and check your measurements against our charts. It is the best way to ensure you feel supported and comfortable.

It is usually best to measure before your surgery. This gives us a clear "baseline" to work with. Your surgeon will help you account for any expected swelling.

If you are unsure, we usually suggest going with the larger size. You want the garment to feel like a firm, supportive hug, but it should never feel painful or keep you from breathing deeply.

It can feel a bit surprising at first! These garments are designed to gently press against your skin to help you heal. It should feel very snug, but if you feel any sharp pain or numbness, definitely check in with your doctor.

About Our Garments

Our garments are crafted from a high-quality blend of 55% spandex and 45% nylon. This specific mix ensures you get the perfect amount of "rebound" and support while remaining soft against your skin.

We treat our fabric with a specialized silver bath. This gives the garment its antimicrobial properties, helping to keep things clean and fresh throughout your recovery without using harsh topical chemicals.

No, none at all. We know your skin can be extra sensitive after a procedure, so we keep our designs smooth and simple. You won't find any lace or scratchy trims here—just pure, medical-grade comfort.

Absolutely. Our fabric is 100% latex-free and designed to be breathable, which helps prevent irritation during the long hours of wear.

Daily Wear & Recovery

Think of Stage 1 as your "immediate" recovery gear. These usually have zippers or hooks to make them easy to put on right after surgery. Stage 2 is for a little later in your journey. These are usually pull-on styles with a lighter feel.

We highly recommend having two. Since you’ll likely be wearing compression around the clock for a few weeks, having a "backup" means you can stay supported while one is in the wash.

Most people wear theirs for about 6 to 8 weeks, but everyone heals at their own pace. Your surgeon will give you the best timeline for your specific recovery.

How to Use & Care for Your Garment

Take your time! For Stage 1 garments, it is often easiest to sit down and slowly pull the garment up. Make sure the panels are centered and smooth against your skin before you start fastening the hooks or zippers. If you have a friend or family member nearby to help with the back or shoulders, it can make the process much smoother.

Treat it gently! Hand wash or use a "delicate" cycle with cold water and a mild soap. Skip the bleach and fabric softeners to keep the fabric strong.

Please avoid the dryer! High heat can damage the elastic fibers that do all the hard work. It is best to just hang it up or lay it flat to air dry.

If you get blood on your garment, don't worry! Soak the garment in 2 to 3 gallons of cold water mixed with 1/2 cup of peroxide for 30 minutes. Once that is done, you can follow our normal washing instructions. If the stain is still there, feel free to repeat those steps.

It’s easy! Just log into your account on our site with your email address and you can start the process right there.

Once we approved your return, we usually get your refund processed within 5 to 7 business days.

For the safety of all our customers, we cannot accept any item that shows signs of wear. This includes stains, odors (like perfume or smoke), pet hair, or any alterations. If a garment doesn't pass our hygiene check, we won't be able to issue a refund.

Warranty & Repair

Yes! We take great pride in the quality of our work. We offer a warranty against manufacturing defects like unraveled seams or hardware issues (zippers and hooks) within 30 days of your purchase.

A defect usually means something happened during the making of the garment, such as a zipper that won't close or a seam that comes apart during your first few wears. It doesn't cover normal wear and tear, or damage caused by improper washing (like using a dryer).

If you think your garment has a flaw, please send a quick photo of the issue to orders@isavela.com along with your order number. We will take a look and, if it is a defect, we will get a replacement sent out to you right away.
